Back To School Nite

Back to School Nite is this Thursday, September 25th from 6:30 - 7:30pm. This is a special night for the parents to interact and meet with the teachers, director, and owner. This event is only for the parents. It is a great way to meet the children's parents and get to know them a little better and you may even find out that you live down the street from another family. Parents of our school family get to chit chat and get to know what their child is learning and what are plans are for the future. The student's school work will also be up for display. This is going to be a fun night and also a nite for the public that would like to get to know our school a little better. It is open to those who are looking at our school for their children to attend too in the future or even now. So welcome everyone and hope to see you there.

-Ms. Eileen

Hi families. Just for an end of the week update...we've been working really hard on building vocabulary. Some homework for you parents...come up with 2 words to use with your jellyfish at home and bring it in to school to share with our friends. I'll be sending home any new words they use here on your daily check reports.

We've also been finishing up our class book called "My Favorite Place to go is...". It's been fun listening to each child describe their favorites or jumble to push out the words. This week Math has been the highlight. We got some new counting materials and they get lost in them for all of group time. hahaha. It's very exciting to hear them count beyond the number 10. I am so proud of how hard they all have been working!

Get ready parents...next week is BACK TO SCHOOL!!! yaaaaaaaay...it's going to be fun to have a moment to catch up with all of you. I hope you can all make it. This week has been fabulous for me and the Jelly's...I hope you all have had a fantastic week and take care.

welcome to coastal cartor.

seth tied his rope to the side so he could climb up.

Hello Seastar families happy wednesday I can't believe we're already in the middle of the week. This week has been nice and busy. We have a new friend in our seastar class named Cartor. He's a sweet boy who's fitting right in and he loves those bunnies. Everyday he asks me if we can play with the bunnies and now his new thing is the yahtzee game we played yesterday. Welcome to coastal Cartor. Also this week we've been talking about our grandparents and about ourselves. On Monday we made a card for our grandparents which will be sent home in the art files on Friday. Today we talked about our fingerprints and did an art activity in which they traced their own hands and put each fingerprint on the tip of their fingers. This was not easy to do for them but they did a good job. I had to help some of them with their left hand but the main idea was to work on their fine motor skills. Tomorrow we will be doing a project called, the long and short of me. For friday share day the kids can bring 3 of their favorite items since this week is all about them.  Well I hope you have a great rest of the week and I'll see you tomorrow.

tuesday news

Hello seahorse families!! I just wanted to update a little early this week. We have two new friends starting with us in the seahorse class. So i just want to say welcome Ashlee and Aiden. They have settled right in with the other children and have already become good friends with their classmates. Emilu and Ashlee spent the day drawing pictures together with sidewalk chalk and the boys all took part in dump truck races and snake chases by Hunter and Mikel. They have been using the jump-ropes as snakes and chase the others around. =D

This week i'masking for baby pictures of your children for a special picture board that we are putting together for back to school night. The kids are really getting a kick out of trying to figure out who is who so please bring a baby picture in by friday. It's homework!! haha

On monday we started reviewing and talking about ourselves. We reviewed body parts such as our head, neck, back, ankles, knees and etc. We had a song to help us go over the basic parts which the kids enjoyed because they also got to move. After that we talked about our heart and veins. We looked for and felt our pulse and heart beat which Hunter came up to me today and said " Ms. Krystal I feel my heart beating!!"

Today we worked on The long and short of me project. I traced each child's leg, foot, arm, and hand/ thumb print. Cameron Couldn't stop laughin because "it tickled" when i traced around his leg and foot. Tomorrow we are going to get a ruler to measure and count how long/ short each body part is.

Thursday we are going to start talking about grandparents and our older friends. We will be making a special picture for them that will be sent home for the children to give to them. So i'm sorry but more homework please send in the names of grandparents/older friends. This will also help with the family tree that we will be working on. =D

Thank you everyone. I'm sorry i don't have time to post pictures tonight but i will try tomorrow because i have some good ones =p Good night!

~Ms. Krystal

Hi everyone! Today we started our "All About Me and Grandparents" week. We'll be doing a lot of fun activities. We started out our group time with our usual Circle Time doing calendar and songs. When we split into group time they had their bodies traced for creating their own portrait of themselves. They'll be given a mirror and they will be asked to look at themselves and their features. After a long hard look...they'll draw it on their body cut out. Be sure to look around for your child's cut out. They'll be conveniently located on the floor. hahaha. Can't miss em! We will also be creating our own library. They will draw pictures of favorite things and places and tell about it at the bottom of the page. At the end of the week I will put those pages together to create our very first book! yaaaaaaaaaaay!! Be sure to check our the lesson plan sheet to keep up with what we're doing all week. You're welcome to join in.

Today's Comment: Luke "My shoe go on my foot! Pleeeeease? Thank you Miss Ka." hahaha. his vocabulary is picking up and fast! I am soooo proud of him for working so hard at using his words. yaaaaay!

I would also like to send out an overdue WELCOME to Ella, Charley, and Dylan! It is so exciting to add new friends to the group and they've all been so brave coming into this experience. So far they are doing awesome jumping in and being a part of the group.

I hope you all had a fantastic day and I will see you in the morning! Take care.

MONDAY MEMO

Good Morning! Hope everyone's weekend was fun and relaxing like ours. We celebrated a little w/ Ms. Shona for her birthday last night and had dinner with Erril(my husband), Gabe(Ms. Shona"s boyfriend) at Buddah"s Favorite(owned by Masaki & Miko Yoshitsuka - Kona's parents). We had a great time! The sushi and the service was EXCELLENT!. We loved the crunchy roll & the lobster roll. If you are out in Newport Beach and would like some delicious sushi with a nice view by the water, this is the place to go. Thanks, Miko...for the Special FRIDAY TREAT you brought. Those "cream puffs" were YUMMY!.....Ok, lets get to the school stuff. Last week's theme about APPLES was a big hit! Here is the verdict..... The Seastars favorite project was The Apple Tree M&Ms, The Seahorse's was the Apple Tasting and the Jellyfish favorite was making "Applesauce". Hmmm... I detect a pattern here! It all covered: Science, Math, Cooking and more! Really love this theme! The theme(s) for this week are " ME, MYSELF & I" and "Grandparents". The children will not only get to know a little bit more about their friends and Grandparents but they will possibly discover something new about themselves or something they really like about themselves. What a great way to start off this week!
