On Monday we talked a little bit about Johnny Appleseed, made green hand prints for our class apple tree, and we also decorated an apple with crape paper.
Tuesday was filled with Tasting. Yummy! We first read a book at circle time and talked about different parts of an apple. We then sat down cut an apple open, reviewing it's parts, and Sampled 3 different types of apples. I then asked each child which one they liked best and wanted more of. If you want to see the results you can check out our Graph hanging just above the cabby's. Do you know which apple your child likes the best? =D
Today we cut open 2 more apples to see how many seed's they each had. I had each child count with me the number of seeds we had in each apple. It just so happened that one apple had more than the other so we then discussed why that may be. The best part for the kids of course was getting to eat it at the end. =p
