MONDAY MEMO
Good Morning to all! Last week of January...time flew by quickly.
We just have a few reminders for this week:
SOCCER SHOTS
Soccer started today. It' still not too late if you would like your child to participate in SOCCER SHOTS. 9:30am every MONDAY.

ILL/SICKNESS POLICY:
Unfortunately from time to time children do get sick. To help minimize the spread of these illnesses, please go over our Illness Policy.
When children first begin school their immunities may need to be built up. Although this may be frustrating for both child and parent, there is a positive result; many children illnesses result in a lifelong immunity. For children's safety & comfort, we will contact a Parent/Guardian to pick up their child up from school if he/she shows sign of the following symptoms:
- Fever(100 degrees or higher)
- Vomiting(1 time)
- Diarrhea(1 time)
- Wet or continuous cough
- Nose that has green mucus or needs constant wiping
- Any open or oozing sores
- Rashes
- Pink or Goopy eyes
- The child nedds one to one care
- The child appears to be in some discomfort
The child will need to be free of ALL symptoms and fever or pain reduction medicine for 24 hours before they return to school. Parents must have a doctor's note prior to their child returning to school.
These information in posted in our front bulletin board for reference and is also in your Parent Hand Book(pages 7&8).Please take the time to go over these things to hopefully eliminate any kind of misunderstanding and confusion in the future.

Goldfish Families
This week is all about BEARS. We have talked about bears, sang about bears, made bear art, and pretended to be bears! Today we had a busy day inside because of the rain. We practiced ABCs with our magnets, made a dot art mural, read stories, visited our Jellyfish friends, and learned some new songs.
The kids are loving the "Five Little Bears" song.
Five little bears were dancing on the floor (hold up five fingers and "dance")
One fell down and that left four (four fingers)
Four little bears climbed up a tree (climbing motion)
One found a bee hive and that left three (buzz like a bee)
Three little bears were wondering what to do (tap forehead like thinking)
One chased a bunny rabbit and that left two (make bunny ears)
Two little bears were looking for some fun (wave hands in the air)
One took a swim and that left one (swimming motion)
One little bear sitting all alone (hold up one finger)
He looked around and then ran home (running motion)
They love practicing music at home with you and it really helps them remember our new songs :)
I will be out Friday but have left some fun activities for them to do with Ms. Eileen.
See you tomorrow!
Ms. Kristen

Great Beginning
Welcome back everyone! We have started the year wonderfully and we have so much to share. This week we have talked about the new year and of course, the season that comes with it. Since we cannot experience the coldest weather in Orange County we have traveled with our imaginations to places around the world were our clothes would not be suitable :) We even had an "igloo" the children loved. We learned a poem about 5 little snowmen which we sometimes changed to 5 little snow women or people, and the children can all recite it for you along with some body signs. An activity they loved was painting with ice, which we will continue doing. The children were extremely energetic so our curriculum had to be adjusted to add more dancing, singing, and active games.
We have had a great first week and it will only get better. Thank you all who came to the carnival and don't forget to grab your photos from the box next to the sign in/out sheets.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
